Nov 14, 2008

The Commonwealth Institute celebrated five years in South Florida at their Annual Leadership Luncheon on November 14th featuring keynote speaker, Maxine Clark, Founder, Chief Executive Bear and Chairman, Build-A-Bear Workshop®.  The luncheon was attended by over 250 women executives and was met with rave reviews as Maxine shared the story of how she created a magical place for children to dream, a business she started in the basement with her best friend and how it has grown into an international success.  Maxine spoke passionately about her dedication to children and how we all should work to inspire children and demand superior education in our public school system.  “This event brings together some of the most powerful women in South Florida and showcases women who have made a difference” said Jodi Cross, Executive Director, TCI-South Florida.
