    At the 2008 Breakfast for Champions fundraiser, we were pleased to host feminist icon, journalist, entrepreneur and women's rights advocate Gloria Steinem as our Keynote Speaker. Moderated by WBZ-TV's Lisa Hughes, the event drew over 1,100 members of the Boston business community. We were also proud to host two TCI Members to speak at this special event and share their "lessons learned"--Holly Safford, Founder and President of The Catered Affair, and Laura Trust, Owner and Co-President of Finagle a Bagel.

  • A Conversation with Madeleine Albright

    The Commonwealth Institute was pleased to present “A Conversation with Madeleine Albright” on May 4, 2006.  The luncheon provided Bostonians with an opportunity to participate in an educational and informal discussion with one of the most insightful women in foreign affairs. Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State and author of numerous publications — including Madam Secretary: A Memoir — answered questions from the audience and offered her unique perspective on some of the most pressing issues of the day, as well as shed light on her newest book, The Mighty and the Almighty: Reflections on America, God and World Affairs.
