Helene established SM& six years ago with a distinct vision -- a firm in Boston that would include a mix of clients from the corporate, non-profit and public sectors that could comfortably co-exist and share synergies. Today, under her leadership, the firm is proud to represent a broad range of enterprises that do exactly what she envisioned. As CEO, Helene works closely with other CEOs to help them develop communications approaches to achieve their strategic objectives. 

 

A leader in her field, Helene melds a track record of work for some of the most recognized brands in their sectors with an understanding of and passion for issues that stem from her background in politics, experience in the public sector, and community service. She also lends her expertise to the boards on which she serves, including the Visiting Nurse Association of Boston, Jewish Big Brother Big Sister and Building Impact. She also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Committee at the communications schools for both The American University and Boston University, where she earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees, respectively.

Helene received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the Boston University College of Communications in 2002.  She is a recipient of the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus Abigail Adams Award which recognizes her longstanding support of women and the community. She is a lifetime member of The Publicity Club of New England having twice served as its president, and has been selected as a Crystal Bell Winner, which recognized her significant contributions to the field of public relations.  She is also a member of the editorial board of PR News.

 

She has participated in a wide variety of panel discussions and forums that examine the relationship between the media and the organizations they cover as the coverage impacts brands and leaders. She has provided commentary nationally on CNN, NBC Nightly News, NBC's Today Show, MSNBC, and FOX TV News, and in local print and broadcast media.
