Shirley Singleton
Edgewater Technology
Shirley Singleton is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Technology, which she co-founded in 1992. Her working life began as a high school teacher and coach. When she abruptly lost her job due to budget cuts, Shirley successfully transitioned to a new career – computer programming. Ten years later, Shirley co-founded Edgewater Technology. Since its inception, Edgewater has grown from a privately-held, five-person shop into a multi-million dollar, publicly-traded technology management consulting firm with consultants working across the globe. During her tenure, Shirley has been presented with numerous awards and recognitions. Most recently, she was voted on to the Commonwealth Institute board of directors. Other acknowledgements include: an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Endicott College; recognition as one of the Top 100 Woman-Led Businesses in Massachusetts for five consecutive years; and, naming to the list of Top 100 Powerful Women in the Boston area by Boston Magazine. Shirley serves on the Foundation Board for Bunker Hill Community College; Advisory Board for The Boston Club; and the Dean's Advisory Council for Bentley College. In addition, she is a member of the Town of Essex Conservation Commission. Shirley is a graduate of Northeastern University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education.
